Here is the collection of Tait T2000 radios I am using. My experience has been with the T2000 series so I am no expert on Tait radios in general. I use T2000's on two meter and 70 cm to communicate on the local repeaters. I have also experimented with T2000 series radios for Allstar and APRS.

Note: There is some concern that this scheme connects RS232c voltage levels, that can be a high as 24 volts
to transistor level, to TTL components designed to operate a 5 volts. Modern workstations, laptops and
USB to serical devices tend to operate at the lower range of the RS232 voltage range. I have used a
straight through cable on many such devices without failures, however there are no guarantees.

A similar Line Interface Kit to the T2000-80 is the T2000-UIS. It is describled
in the Tait Electronics (Aust) Pty Ltd, A2000-UIS Ver 1.0, T2000 Universal,

Wires-X traffic can be very anoying on receivers that are not able to decode it.
Here are the program setting for CTCSS on RX so you dont hear the Digital noise
(eg Wires-X) on the 70cm repeater when its on if you have a 2020.
Set in the channel list a frequency for CTCSS on RX to 91.5 and 91.5 in the TX set.
In sub audible signaling set in RX ALL. In Monitor function disables all mutes.
Tick monitor Key short and tick monitor key long.
This will allow you to set the push button to long press and disable all mutes this
allows you to disable the function by pressing the left hand bottom button.
A long press now mutes, and short press only CTCSS mute disabled.
The DM1 is a low price DTMF keypad microphone originally designed to work with Tait 2000 series radios but is suitable for use with many other types of radios. The curly cord on this microphone is terminated in an RJ12 connector and is also fitted with two different rubber boots suitable for the Tait 2000 series radios. Simply remove the plug and boots for use with any type of radio other radio.

The original dynamic inserts in the hand-held Taits are renowned for losing
their sensitivity with age resulting in poor modulation depth on transmission
and this project will restore clarity and power.

The T2015 raadi I have is narrow band and I received signal repeprts that my
signal was clear but well down in volume. The solution was to increase the deviation.
I would the deviation control, RV907 fully clockwise and that has increased the volume of my
transmissions to a more acceptable level.
