Cloned Prolific PL-2303 (VID_067B, PID_2303)

Most device contains a counterfeit (cloned) "Prolific" chipset. In order to protect their intellectual property, Prolific in conjunction with Microsoft are distributing drivers that are able to detect these cloned chipsets and disable them. Unfortunately, this has caused havoc for the average end user.

This applies to Windows 32 and 64-bit Operating Systems
Versions Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

Typical Error Messages:
  • This Device cannot start (Code 10)
  • No driver installed for this device
  • Device driver was not successfully installed
  • No response at all
