Install K3NG Rotator Application

Paste this section before the "exit 0":

README.TXT:

# Note - make sure "/home/glenn/bin is on PATH" in .profile

arduino-text - sketches to test arduino in K3NG pin configuration

# tty types are ttyUSB[0123] and ttyAMA[0123]
setserial -g /dev/ttyAMA[0123]  3 limited functionalliy on Buster

ls -l /dev/tyUSB0               # must have rw access
id -Gn | grep dialout           # must be in dialout
#  -G groups, -n print a name instead of a number

# screen saved session that lock the tty
screen /dev/ttyUSB0 9600,cs8
# Ctrl-A, Ctrl-\  # exit screen
# Ctrl-A, Ctrl-D  # suspend  screen
# Screen -r       # restore screen session

# cu kills logon on exit ???
apt install cu
cu -l /dev/ttyACM0 -s 9600

# minicom
sudo minicom -b 9600 -8 /dev/ttyUSB0
# "minicom: cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: Device or resource busy" message
      is most likey permission on tty - Try sudo

# tty device busy problem - rotctld run from /etc/rc.local is the cause.
sudo lsof /dev/ttyUSB0  # show the locking processes

sudo vi /etc/rc.local
# NOTE this daemon connect to the /dev/ttyUSB0 port with exclusive use.
# This will lock out any other application's access to the port
# Best NOT to use this. Use systemd as an alternative.
systemctl daemon-reload         #
sudo systemctl disable rc-local # however this does not kill the process that rc.local may have started
ps aux | grep rotctl
kill -9 <process>

# arduino-cli and cu need exclusive locks on the tty port,.. so only one can run at a time.
./upload          # compile and upload
./upload && cu -l /dev/ttyACM0 -s 9600 # compile, upload and connect to serial
# ~.              # to exit and cu will release the serial port on exit.~

NOTE this is the view looking into the socket

5-pin connector (EL connector):

Pin 1 - UP switch (open collector)
Pin 2 - DOWN switch (open collector)
Pin 3 - analog output (0.5 - 4.5 V, four steps)
Pin 4 - analog input (0-5V elevation)
Pin 5 - analog ground
Pin 6 - No Connect..

5-pin connector (AZ connector):

Pin 1 - RIGHT (CW) switch (open collector)
Pin 2 - LEFT (CCW) switch (open collector)
Pin 3 - analog output (0.5 - 4.5 V, four steps)
Pin 4 - analog input (0-5V azimuth)
Pin 5 - analog ground
Pin 6 - No Connect
