Wires-X Monitor

You can download Wiresmon here:
http://yaesu.com/downloadFile.cfm?FileID=9448&FileCatID=42&FileName=wiresmon%2Dx1010en.zip&FileContentType=application%2Fx%2Dzip%2Dcompressed

Note: allthough I have read references stating that this utility will run undr Linux, it fails to do so fo me. When the program starts up, you need to input the information listed below, so as to allow your software to communicate with your node. Please input the following information. DTMF ID : DTMF ID number (5 digits) of your Node. Serial No : Serial number of your Node's HRI-200 I/F Box. Password : Remote control's Password which you must have set on your Node computer. Save Password : When you have finished entering it, so as to allow your computer to remember it. * Prior to attempting Remote Control operation, you must modify the settings your node's WIRES-X software to set Remote Control function to ON. ([File]-[Settings]-[Property]-[General settings])

With WiresmonI can now hear what is being said when the 70cm spurts out all that anoying analogue static. I first tried this on the Optus Broardband Wireless Modem and got the message "PC not Found".

I then switched to my ADSL service and got "Connecting......".

I could not head any traffic, although it said "connection....." I then forwarded port 46110 in the modem admin and it sprang to life.

I listened on my analogue Tait, tuned to the local 70cm wires-X frequency, for the Wires-X static to indicate a transmission was taking place. If there was static on the Tait, then there should be voices on the computer running the Wiresmon utility. And so there was!

The Web Interface

If this Wires-X server has the correct port open, and you know the password, then the Web Interface Monitor can be accessed.

The Web based Monitor can be accessed either by selecting "Web Monitor" in the Wiresmon utility or by following this link and substituting the correct password in place of "**********"

http://59.167.215.206:46190/?wipassword=**********

Each of the lines above call further menus. You can read a lot of information but set very little.
